Project „The INDEX for Inclusive education – the adjustment of methodological material for introduction in Latvia” (June – December, 2008).

The aim of the project – on the basis of implementing and approbating the values of inclusive society in the educational institutions of Latvia and local community, to adapt the publication of the CSIE (Centre for Studies on Inclusive Education) “INDEX for Inclusive Education” according to basic regulations of Latvian education. The Index has been worked out as a supplementary tool for establishing inclusive schools. It is an all-embracing document, which can help anyone to choose the most appropriate next step for developing the inclusive environment. When developing these materials, the attention was paid to the fact how to apply the existing knowledge and experience more successfully. The Index supports the development of any kind of school and makes schools perform the analysis of their work; however, within this work the word ‘school’ means “inclusive school”. The funder of the project – the British Council (BC) in Latvia.
